Injury Management
Corporate Health Group is committed to:
Treatment
Medical practitioners provide the key to successful rehabilitation. Without
the support of medical practitioners the management and rehabilitation of
injured workers becomes very difficult. Our Work Health Clinic medical practitioners
have many years of experience in helping employers reduce potential losses
from injuries. Employees are provided with an immediate casualty service,
with ongoing treatment integrating at all times with the rehabilitation process
to ensure a safe return-to-work.
The Work Health Clinics provide a comprehensive range of medical and physiotherapy
services specifically targeted at effectively managing occupational injuries
and disease. These include:
Corporate Health Group’s occupational therapists and physiotherapists provide high quality therapy services for:
Psychological
Intervention
We recognise that psychosocial factors, such as beliefs and attitudes about
pain and illness, personal family factors, emotional problems or employment
factors clearly impact on the complexity of injury claims.
Our Psychology Unit provides clinical treatment services for a range of problems,
including pain management, occupational stress management, depression, anxiety
and fears, post traumatic stress and anger management.
Critical
Incidence Response
In some circumstances, severe work injuries or exposure to life/death situations,
such as armed hold-ups, may develop traumatic stress disorders. Immediate
intervention following an incident assists the workers to effectively deal
with the experience and establishes ongoing support needs. This service is
available within two hours of an incident, 24 hours a day.
Employee
Assistance Program
Various issues, both at work and in their personal lives, can affect employees’
work performance. Our Employee Assistance Program offers support to employees
by providing confidential counselling and assistance in a range of areas,
including emotional problems, trauma-induced stress, financial/legal concerns,
harassment and abuse, marital/family problems, alcohol and drug dependence
and grief counselling. By seeking assistance early, employees may be able
to overcome these issues before they become significant problems and impact
upon work performance.
Effective
Case Management
Our experience shows that a successful conclusion to injury management depends
on early intervention and the co-operation of all parties in the process of
sustained return-to-work. To this end, we ensure the worker, employer, medical
staff and, where necessary, union representatives are all an integral part
of the return-to-work process.
As part of this process, you will have an expert Injury Management Consultant
of your choice. Your chosen consultant will become familiar with the activities
and operations of your business at no cost to you. Through the preferred provider
relationship, you will be kept fully informed of progress in the return to
work of your injured employees.
Effective case management can include services such as initial needs assessment,
rehabilitation goal setting, return to work planning and maintenance, liaison
with medical experts, unsticking ‘stuck’ cases, job seeking and
counselling.
